New Driving Range Opens

It was an historic day at the Castle Dargan Golf Resort on Friday last as the brand new driving range was officially opened. A large gathering of members, locals and visitors from other golf clubs were present to see the ribbon cut on this fantastic addition to the range of facilities at Castle Dargan. Resort manager Ciaran Gardiner welcomed the crowd, and invited owner and Club President Mr Dermot Fallon to cut the ribbon and declare the 4 bay driving range officially open. Club Captains Kevin Conlon and Joan O Dowd smashed the first 2 drives down the range, and the gathering were then treated to wine and finger food as some of the local Castle Dargan juniors showed off their skills. The driving range is now open every day to both members and visitors alike, so feel free to drop by and try out this fantastic addition to the facilities at Castle Dargan.

All participants in both cups are reminded that the deadline for the completion of first round matches is the 10th of May.  The rules surrounding this year’s match play competitions are as follows and will be strictly enforced;

  •     The responsibility for arranging a match lies with both players in that match.
  •     All matches to be played as per course rules on the day of play.
  •     All matches must be completed by the stipulated date; non-completed matches will be eliminated.
  •     Handicap allowance is full difference between both players.
  •     Competitors play off currant handicap on day of match (max 18 for Darren Clarke Cup)
  •     Singles match play finals are fixed for Saturday 6th of September.

Mixed Scramble (Fridays)
Our weekly mixed Friday scramble resumed on Friday the 1st of May. Interested players should meet at the golf shop for the draw at 6pm.
